Kevin O'Dea sent this information in regarding the ecochallange. Hope to see you all there!!!
Some background info on the ecochallenge:
First held in 2004, the race combines a 2 mile run, a 4 mile mountain bike, and a 2 mile canoe course at Beads Dam. Contestants
complete as part of two person teams and each member of the team must complete each portion of the race. The main reason
for teams is that it is much easier for two people to handle a canoe, especially if the wind is up. Team members can separate
during the run and bike portions, but do the canoe (which is last) together. The first year we had 9 teams, last year we
had 18 and I would like to see 30 this year. For the first time this year we will be giving awards (plaques or medals)
to the top finishers in the male, female, and youth divisions. Having divisions is also a first. Coed teams will compete
in the male division. There will also be awards for the fastest individual times in the run, bike, and canoe.
